Sharon graduated from Rutgers University in 1983, earning a BA in Industrial Labor Relations and joined GEÔÇÖs Human Resource Leadership Program (HRLP) with GE Plastics. She completed a number of functional assignments on HRLP in the area of Union Relations, Staffing and Communications. Sharon was also involved in the divestiture of a business prior to completing the program. She assumed a cross functional assignment off program as Manager, Quality Testing. Sharon moved to Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1988, following the acquisition of Borg Warner Chemicals in a Human Resources leadership role. She accepted a role with GE Medical Systems as Manager, Human Resources, Sales and Service Operations in 1990. Sharon subsequently held roles in GE Corporate as Executive Management Consultant and Senior Human Resource Manager, Industrial Control Systems. She was appointed Manager, Organization and Staffing for GE Energy in September 1999. Sharon was appointed to the role of Senior Human Resources, GE Global Research Center in September 2002 with responsibility for labs operated in Niskayuna, NY; Bangalore, India; Shanghai, China and Munich, Germany. She was named to the position of Vice President, Human Resources, GE Energy Infrastructure in August, 2005, a $40B enterprise with 65,000 employees, globally. She was later named to the role of Vice President, Human Resources, GE Power and Water in November, 2012. Sharon began working on the Alstom acquisition in 2014 and was named VP, HR and Cultural integration leader for this transaction in July, 2014. She has been a member of the GE WomenÔÇÖs Network since 1997.
