Details
Good day Johnson Community,
It is our pleasure to invite you to the first Community Conversations of the year. The purpose of the community conversations is to have members of the Johnson community come together to engage in thoughtful dialogue about topics of interest to this community. Additionally, the purpose is to broaden our own perspectives, discover collective meaning, and build relationships with one another.
These conversations should build your repertoire of skills and can be used in the future, as you may encounter similar issues in business school or the workplace, namely with classmates, staff, faculty, colleagues or staff that you will manage. Each community conversation will include short readings, see attached, and will be facilitated by a special guest. The topic of our first community conversation will be “Diversity in the Workplace” and led by Linda Croll Howell.
Linda is the Director of Inclusion and Diversity Metrics for Human Resources and Safety Services at Cornell. Prior to this, she held roles as Director of Work Life Services as well as the Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development for CIT. Prior to coming to Cornell 11 years ago, she held various Human Resources roles for companies in NYC including Young & Rubicam, JP Morgan Chase, MTV Networks, and most recently was the SVP of Human Resources for Grey Global Group. She holds a Ph.D. in Applied Research and Evaluation in Psychology from Hofstra University.
If you have any questions about Community Conversations please contact Babatunde Ayanfodun, ba279@cornell.edu
Best regards,
ODI
