Details

The market's perpetual resistance to internalizing the true social costs of carbon has forced the renewable energy sector to rely continually on inconsistent government regulations and incentives for price support. The recent discovery of significant amounts of shale gas coupled with intensified market competition from emerging economies challenge the viability of domestic renewable energy.  Among the different participants in the renewable energy market, renewable technology start-ups are most exposed to these threats. Panelists will describe the roadblocks faced by start-ups, outline innovative strategies used to overcome various political and market obstacles, and discuss remaining unsolved challenges.  This panel is part of Entrepreneurship@Cornell’s Celebration 2012 event.  http://eship.cornell.edu/activities/celebration
