Leadership Crisis Challenge
Do You Have What it Takes?

Please note that the Crisis Challenge is now full. If you are interested in being put on the waitlist, please email imj8@cornell.edu.

If you're going to lead, it’s inevitable that you’ll face a crisis at some point in your career. And it’s in moments of crisis that you’ll show what you’re made of—can you rise to the challenge, think critically, and lead through ambiguity to a successful outcome? Or will you falter? Find out at the Leadership Crisis Challenge.

Grand Prize: $2,000
Second Place: $1,200
Third Place: $500

You need to be able to step up and lead during times of crisis, change, and uncertainty. That’s why we’re inviting you to participate in our second annual Leadership Crisis Challenge. This intensive case competition/simulation exercise will throw you headfirst into a crisis situation so you can both test and further develop skills that can’t possibly be captured in a classroom. Plus, the winning team will take home $2,000.

Please note this is a different case from spring 2014, so students who participated last year are strongly encouraged to sign up.

During this competition you will:
  • Present a crisis response plan to a “Board of Directors” comprised of alumni, military leaders, legal experts, subject matter experts, and management scholars
  • Prepare a press release detailing your plan to the general public
  • Negotiate a live press conference (if you make the finals), fielding questions from actual reporters and members of the press

In addition to gaining valuable experience that will serve you well in your career, you’ll also:

  • Compete for cash, prizes, and glory, including a $2,000 grand prize
  • Get to attend a large reception after the event
  • Earn 0.5 LSP credits*
  • Have fun!

How to Form a Team
Each team must have four members. Teams can be made up of any combination of two-year, one-year, or exchange students. Once you have your team, you'll need to choose a team name. Then, each member of the team should register here on CampusGroups.
Want to participate, but need help finding teammates? Use this Google Doc.

Registration Deadline
You and your team must sign up by Sunday, April 19th at 11:55PM.
