Microsoft Project is a valuable tool for planning, managing and controlling the status of your projects. It gives you the ability to see both the overview and the details of a project, and it will help you to identify risks and solve problems before they occur, thus saving time and money. This workshop will demonstrate project management workflow using key features of Microsoft Project, including:
- Entering and organizing tasks and resources
- Viewing the status of the project
- Controlling schedules by setting task durations, establishing task dependencies, working with constraints, and setting milestones
- Incorporating costs and reviewing budgets
- Creating a Gantt chart
- Tracking the project
The workshop will closely follow tutorials in the book Microsoft Project Version 2002 Step by Step by Carl S. Chatfield; ISBN: 073561301X. Students who bring a copy of the book to the workshop will benefit from bringing the book, but the book is NOT required.
