Details
Presenter: Miles Lewis and Kevin Shuller. Both instructors are Johnson MBA 2010.
A critical component of the interview process for careers in investment research, for both the buy- and sell-side, is the ability to effectively "pitch" a stock. Though this MSP is geared towards students pursing careers in investment research, the workshop should also be beneficial for those students interested in sales and trading careers.
The goal of this MSP is to provide Johnson students with the skills needed to perform better in interviews at investment research firms by improving their abililty to analyze and pitch stocks. The MSP will teach a framework for pitching stocks, but also focus heavily on practical valuation and fundamental analysis techniques using conceptual frameworks and real world examples. An ancillary benefit of this MSP is that it helps to ensure that a consistent framework for pitching stocks is used by students, which should improve the experience of students working on the Cayuga Fund.
Finally, students attending the workshop will receive:
(i) physical slides used in the presentation, which will contain several case studies and real world examples; and
(ii) a detailed equity analysis checklist
