Microsoft Project is a valuable tool for planning, managing and controlling the status of your projects. It gives you the ability to see both the overview and the details of a project, and it will help you to identify risks and solve problems before they occur, thus saving time and money. This workshop will demonstrate project management workflow using key features of Microsoft Project: ??

  • Enter and organize tasks and resources ?
  • View the status of the project ?
  • Control schedules by setting task durations, establishing task dependencies, working with constraints, and setting milestones ?
  • Incorporate costs and reviewing budgets ?
  • Create a Gantt chart ?
  • Track the project ??

The workshop closely follows tutorials in the book Microsoft Project Version 2013 Step by Step by Carl S. Chatfield; ISBN: 978-0-7356-6911-6. The book is available in paperback and Kindle versions. Participants who bring a copy of the book to the workshop will benefit from having the book, but the book is NOT required.

Prerequisites: None. Microsoft Project is available only on Windows computers. Participants will receive instructions for installing a trial version of Microsoft Project prior to the workshop. Participants are welcome to enroll and observe the workshops without installing Microsoft Project.
