The Women's Leadership Conference (WLC) begins on the heels of our Johnson Women in Business prospective student recruitment event. The WLC will provide an opportunity for women in the Johnson Community to engage in discussion on topics that are pertinent to women's leadership. We have keynote speaker Janet Carr, MBA ’90a dynamic alumni panel and 2 great workshops. Janet Carr is currently President of the Handbag Division at Nine West Group. She manages a fully integrated global business ÔÇô from Design to Sales to a Sourcing team in China ÔÇô with over $160 million in annual revenues in over 70 countries in all channels of distribution across three brands: Nine West, Anne Klein and a small niche brand, Rafe.

Prior to Nine West Group, Janet was Chief Operating Officer of Ghurka, an American heritage menÔÇÖs luxury leather brand. In this role, she helped private investors set a neglected brand in a ÔÇ£restartÔÇØ mode on a solid professional foundation for growth. She was responsible for all back-of-house functions including finance, all supply chain functions and the retail stores.

Prior to Ghurka, Janet was Senior Vice President, Strategy and Customer Engagement, for Coach, a leading marketer of menÔÇÖs and womenÔÇÖs accessories and leather goods. She joined Coach in 2005 and was responsible for leading all aspects of the brand and business strategy globally and for developing deep and actionable consumer insights that informed a broad range of business decisions. Her team was also responsible for developing and implementing the global customer engagement strategy ÔÇô integrated programs tailored to actionable consumer segments designed to drive long-term loyalty.

Prior to joining Coach, Janet was with Gap Inc., in a similar role for the International Division and Banana Republic. Other prior work experience includes Vice President of Corporate Pricing for Safeway, and 7 years of management consulting focused on consumer and retail strategy for Booz Allen & Hamilton.

Janet has experience developing and implementing innovative brand and business strategies for many consumer categories and industries, and has broad expertise across North America, Asia, and Europe.

Janet holds a BA in Zoology and a MA in Biology from San Jose State University and a MBA from Cornell UniversityÔÇÖs Johnson Graduate School of Business.

Jennifer Tegan is Partner/Owner of Cayuga Venture Fund (CVF), located in Ithaca, NY. Since starting with CVF in 2002, Jennifer has been working with, supporting and financing entrepreneurs in technology-based companies in the areas of communications equipment, social networking, semi-conductors, materials sciences and CMOS sensors. She serves on the boards of GiveGab, Intrinsiq Materials and True Gault as well as represents the fund on the boards of BinOptics Corporation and Venuebook. Previously she served on the board of Allworx, Inc., until its sale to Paetec Corporation. In addition she is responsible for setting up and managing the financial, marketing and communications functions of CVF. Jennifer has her BA and MS in Geology from Smith College and University of Cincinnati, respectively and her MBA from Cornell University (2001).
Since its inception in 1994, Cayuga Venture Fund and its member investors have invested more than $70 million in technology companies in upstate New York, many of which are based on research performed at Cornell University, and helped to attract approximately $300 million of investor capital to technology start-up companies in what is traditionally considered to be a region underserved by venture capital.

Judith A. Rowe is a Training Systems Manager for Corporate Quality. She has worked in various roles during her 24 year tenure with Corning Incorporated including Product Engineer, Sales Engineer, Customer Service Team Leader, Supervisory Effectiveness Instructor, Human Resources Manager, and Performance Excellence Project Manager for Human Resources. Prior to Corning Incorporated, Judy held engineering positions at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Chattanooga, Loudoun County Sanitation Authority in Leesburg, Virginia and Mobil Oil Corporation in Fairfax, Virginia. Judy holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Civil and Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee as well as a Master of Industrial Labor and Relations degree from Cornell University.

Judy has a strong interest in volunteering for community activities, coaching, and mentoring as well as youth development when time permits. Judy is passionate about using strengths-based philosophy to help others realize their full potential in life; she recently achieved certification in StandOut Advantage strengths-based training in 2013.

She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Corning Hospital Board of Directors, and the Donald Guthrie Foundation Board of Directors. Judy has formerly served on the United Way Board of Directors and the Cosmopolitan WomenÔÇÖs Club Board of Directors.

Judy resides with her husband, Joe, sons Joe and Jonathan, and dog, Troy in Horseheads, New York.

Michele Williams is an Assistant Professor of Organization Behavior at the ILR School, Cornell University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Her research focuses on proactive behavior, emotion and trust with special attention to the development of cooperative, high-performing relationships at work. Michele has consulted on effective relationship development and collaboration for public and private organizations such as BoozÔÇóAllen & Hamilton and Massachusetts General Hospital. She is co-author of the Four Capabilities Assessment, designed for developing leadership and effective work relationships. Broadly speaking, her research strives to Advance the Work of Work.

As a Strategy Director with CBX, Sandra leads brand strategy, innovation and digital projects across industries including consumer packaged goods, retail and financial services. Recent clients include Rite Aid, Western Union, DenTek and Jazzercise.

Prior to joining CBX, Sandra worked for Procter & Gamble, where she led new global product launches, advertising and digital marketing for the Max Factor and COVERGIRL brands.

Sandra, a Silicon Valley native, also managed development and marketing of software technology brands at Oracle and Kana Inc.

Sandra holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA from UC Berkeley. She has also been a featured speaker at the HBA Expo and Shopper Marketing Institute conferences, and has been a NYU Stern MBA program guest lecturer for several years.

Caitlin Schryver is the Executive Director of Triad Foundation in addition to her role as Chief Investment Officer. Ms. Schryver, a Roy H. Park Leadership Fellow who earned her MBA from CornellÔÇÖs Johnson Graduate School of Management in 2001, also graduated with a AB from Princeton University. She joined Triad in 2007 as CIO after working as a Senior Planner and Workforce Consultant at Cornell University. She also served as a Board Member and was Chair of the Finance Committee at the Community Foundation of Tompkins County.
