Regardless of your viewpoint or political background, you can benefit personally and professionally from this one-time workshop, offered on three different dates this semester. During this two-hour session, facilitators from the Intergroup Dialogue Project (IDP) will join the Johnson Graduate School of Management to provide a method for communicating across differences of identity, background, and perspective. Participants will learn to emphasize listening, affirmation, and empathy in order to better invite diverse perspectives and create shared meaning across difference—even when this is uncomfortable or difficult. Johnson students will leave the session with greater confidence in their abilities to have sensitive or difficult conversations with classmates, colleagues, community members, friends, and family. In our rapidly changing political climate, this ability to communicate across difference is an especially fundamental skill in your life as a student, leader, and professional.
