Based in Boston, Jake was adopted from Colombia and grew up in Connecticut. He's a freelance scout at VamosVentures, a Seed and Series A fund that invests in underrepresented founders building startups in Healthcare, Future of Work, Fintech and Sustainability.

Previously, he was a Principal at Inicio Ventures, an early stage venture fund that cultivates Latino startup ecosystems by supporting founders, funders, and field builders. At Inicio, Jake championed deals in Future of Work, telecoms/hardware, CPG, and SaaS. He managed and led the AngelPath Academy, a program teaching the fundamentals of early stage investing to the next generation of angels and future fund managers.

Jake holds an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Columbia University. When not working, you can find Jake on the soccer field, dancing salsa and bachata, hiking, or playing with his niece and nephew.
