StorySelling for Interviews & Networking

***This event is open to both internship and full-time seeking international students. Participation in the entire event is required***

StorySelling is about developing the most compelling stories and knowing how to convey them most effectively in the setting of networking and interviewing. Applying American marketing concepts of customer needs and key selling points, this workshop helps students build a unique and relevant "core story" for their job search.

Many international students are uncomfortable selling themselves in the US context and importantly, do not use the language structure interviewers expect. Students who attended this workshop in the past found the workshop particularly helpful in providing a structure for "selling" themselves.

You'll walk away with understanding how to
1. Decode a Job Description – know what hiring managers are really looking for
2. Build Your Core Story and Key Selling Points
3. Answer 2 critical questions:
a. Why are you interested in this job?
b. Why are you qualified for this job?

About Judy Shen-┬¼ÔÇÉFilerman
Judy is CEO of Dreambridge Partners, with over 25 years of experience as a consumer goods executive, consultant, and entrepreneur. A "culture-┬¼ÔÇÉcrosser" for most of her life, Judy is passionate to help "Third Culture" professionals adapt and thrive in new contexts. For over a decade, Judy has lectured at business schools around the country on matters of international student acculturation, job search e´¼Çectiveness and cross-┬¼ÔÇÉteam collaboration between domestic and international students. Judy has also engaged students on issues of diversity and inclusion and gender equity, both for domestic and international students.
