The Speakers have successfully acquired companies themselves:

Diego Cuenca has spent his life working with family business and privately-owned companies in different operations, sales, and investment roles at ALPS Advisory and Bernstein Wealth Management primarily working with families and foundations. Diego has also had experience in early-stage venture capital and founded a surfboard design company- Makara Surf.
Kata Capital Partners, his proprietary Search Fund made its first investment in 2018, when it acquired Ticketech Parking Technologies. Following 3 years of organizational change led by Diego, Ticketech was sold to Flash Parking - a fast-growing mobility technology provider in 2022.
Diego received his BA in Economics-Accounting from Claremont Mckenna College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Brenden Van Buren started as President of Pro Max Fence Systems LLC in June of 2018 after working with GTE to acquire the successfully growing fence contractor.
Prior to GTE he received his full time MBA and worked as a project manager in the heavy highway construction industry where he led teams of superintendents, foreman, and owners in the creation of private and public infrastructure projects. He has also worked on a number of technology projects for the construction materials industry such as ERP implementation and quality control systems.
Brenden is a leader and enjoys working in teams to create innovation. In the future he plans to make a career out of continuing to look for opportunities to revitalize existing industries through innovation.
