The Smith Family Business Initiative is proud to announce the (Virtual) Taste of Family Business series. Once each month, we will feature a real-time experience with a family business and their product, be it wine, beverage or food. Each tasting and future pairings will be a unique experience with special access to each family business, their story and product. Registration is limited to the first 25 to register to ensure that all attendees have an opportunity to engage with each other as well as the featured family business.
Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery – Dr. Konstantin Frank ignited the "Vinifera Revolution", a movement that forever changed the course of wine growing in the Finger Lakes and the United States. Dr. Frank’s vision, knowledge and determination are credited with elevating the New York wine industry from a state of happy mediocrity to a level that today commands world attention. Now in its fourth generation of family leadership, Meaghan Frank ’11, MPS ’16, serves as the Vice President leading the winery through these challenging times. Meaghan will lead the tasting of several of Dr. Frank’s most popular wines, as well as share the rich history of the Dr. Frank story through historic photos, a virtual tour of the winery, and share her own entrepreneurial imprints upon the business.
Dr. Frank has put together a special selection of their finest wines for this tasting. In order to assure you receive the wines prior to July 30, registration and purchase is recommended by Friday, July 17. Upon registering for the tasting, you will be supplied with a special link that directs you to the Dr. Frank Winery website to complete your wine purchase.

Dr. Konstantin Frank Winery
Meaghan Frank is the fourth generation of the Frank family to manage Dr. Konstantin Frank's Winery, specializing in producing premium and super-premium wines in the Finger Lakes region of New York. After graduating in 2011 from the school of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Cornell University, she decided that her career path would be in the wine industry. For two years she worked and studied in Adelaide, Australia where she earned her Masters degree in Wine Business. After returning home to the Finger Lakes, Meaghan returned to Cornell for a MPS degree in enology which she completed in January 2016. Her great-grandfather Konstantin started the winery in 1962 and was the first person to successfully grow vitis vinifera (Euopean species) varieties in the Eastern United States.
