Join the Smith Family Business Initiative as we host “Connected Conversations”, a monthly webinar series that explores topics relevant to family business owners, members, advisors, students, and alumni. We invite you to join us as we navigate the current uncertainty in our global economy, and its impacts on family businesses.

Nike Anani and Tsitsi Mutendi met on LinkedIn in summer 2019 and soon discovered their mutual interest in family firms as well as African business. Soon after, they decided to launch African Family Firms, a community of like-minded peers dedicated to building multigenerational family businesses, that would promote generational wealth and generational legacies on the continent. AFF organizes exclusive, by-invitation-only events, summits, and roundtables across different African cities. Our conversation with Nike and Tsitsi will explore many of these family businesses in Africa, what we know about them, and what we still hope to learn.

Nike Anani is a second generation entrepreneur and a Consultant. She was rated as a top-100 Family Business Consultant globally. She helps her clients bridge the gap between the senior and younger generations. As a result, they communicate, collaborate and collectively gain clarity, to increase profit and productivity in their family businesses. With over a decade of family business expertise in Africa, Nike helps owners lead their family organizations to long-term impact and legacy.

Tsitsi Mutendi is a Family Business Consultant and Family Enterprise Specialist who helps Businesses and Families set up Structure, Governance, and Succession strategies that help them create lasting legacies and allows them to build multi-generational wealth. Together with Nike Anani, she founded African Family Firms in 2019.
