The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, along with the Johnson Club of Washington, D.C., cordially invite you to join them for the
Annual Washington, D.C., Predictions Event

What Amazon HQ2 Could Mean for the Future of Washington, D.C.

Amazon will bring a $5 billion construction investment and upwards of 50,000 high-paying jobs to the city it selects for its second headquarters (HQ2). Three of the 20 cities announced as finalists for Amazon's HQ2 are located in the Washington, D.C., area, increasing the odds that this historic deal will land close to our country's capital.

Join us for a panel discussion moderated by Kenyattah Robinson, MBA '06, President & CEO, Mount Vernon Triangle Community Improvement District, and learn more about this potential deal and what the economic and physical landscape transformation could look like if Amazon selects an HQ2 location in the Washington, D.C., area.

Let us tell you a little more about the Johnson Predictions series.
How did the Prediction series get started?
First launched by the Johnson Club of the Bay Area 23 years ago, the Predictions series quickly became a tradition supported by Johnson alumni clubs throughout the U.S. Every year, Predictions events welcome all members of the Cornell community to come, mingle, and listen to top leaders and thinkers share industry insights for the coming year.
What is the format?
Each event opens with a networking cocktail reception that includes heavy hors d'oeuvres. The following program includes an update, a Predictions announcement, and a TED-style talk by the keynote speaker followed by an interactive Q&A session.
Why are they called Predictions events?
In addition to a forward-looking keynote presentation, club leaders collaborate to create a short list of business-related questions for attendees, who are asked to cast their best predictions for 2018. Those who offered the most accurate responses to the 2017 Predictions questions will be honored at this year's events.
