Details
Improvisational comedy (“improv”) is about a lot more than making jokes, and the fundamentals of improv contain a variety of lessons that are directly applicable to the business world. To become a successful improviser, one must be a true team player, focus on supporting and building rather than negating; develop a comfort with novel and fast-changing situations; listen actively; and find a strong and consistent voice. This course will use team-based improv exercises to develop a set of skills for corporate settings. The course will be framed around different “modules”, with each module focused on a specific business skill.
Workshop attendees will improve their ability to:
- Support their team by building up rather than knocking down
- Jump into unfamiliar or uncomfortable situations with confidence
- Actively listen to ideas being presented
- Find and maintain a strong voice and presence
