This workshop introduces participants to the concept of inclusive leadership through allyship and best practices in fostering inclusion and actively seeking to reduce the impact of one’s bias. Participants explore common forms of workplace biases--from affinity bias, to confirmation bias, to the halo/horns effect--to examine the ways their peers are potentially impacted in the workplace. Using interactive scenarios, participants practice their allyship skills to critically think and to consider the barriers that might stand in the way of becoming effective allies. Through courageous conversations, participants will consider how they can show up as allies to influence an inclusive and ethical workplace environment.
