Daring Leaders Have Courageous Conversations

Friday, November 15th, 2:00pm - 4:30pm

People often think that having courage means running into a building on fire or some other "heroic" act and the someone is born with it. But courage is a set of skills that is teachable and learnable - with practice. Participants will have an opportunity to learn and practice these skills in a low stakes environment. 

Workshop attendees will:

  • Learn the four skills they need to have courageous conversations
  • Know where they currently stand, related to these skills (pre-work will go to workshop participants)
  • Practice and strengthen skills in at least one of their areas
  • Leave with a roadmap of how to build their capability in having courageous conversations


About the Instructor

Sue Mann, MBA '03, MMH '04 of Sansu Rising Coaching is a Board-Certified Coach focused on helping professionals who feel stuck in a toxic environment or who experience workplace bullying to navigate confidently and effectively. Her approach is deeply informed by Brené Brown’s research, and, in particular, Dare to Lead. Sue’s 25-year career has spanned continents, roles and industries. Previously she has been a diplomat, consultant, project manager, banker, manufacturer, and entrepreneur. Sue is an MBA ’03 and MMH ’04.


Graduation Credit
All Johnson students are eligible to use up to 1.5 credit hours from Leadership Skills Program and/or Managerial Skills Program credits toward the MBA degree credit-hour requirements.
This LSP workshop is worth 0.1 LSP credits, and will build your skills in the the following 4Cs:
