- Graduate and Professional students will be able to pre-enroll in fall 2021 classes beginning Thursday, May 6 at 9:00 a.m. and ending on Friday, May 7 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
- IMORTANT NOTE: This process is first come, first serve so should log in exactly at 9:00 a.m.

- Please note that information in the Class Roster is subject to change.
Critical Action Items Before Pre-Enrollment
- You must complete the Fall 2021 Cornell University Enrollment Attestation before you are eligible to enroll in courses.
- Failure to do so will lead to an enrollment hold, which means you will not be able to enroll in classes. Once you complete the attestation, the enrollment hold will be removed within approximately one hour.
- Failure to do so will lead to an enrollment hold, which means you will not be able to enroll in classes. Once you complete the attestation, the enrollment hold will be removed within approximately one hour.
- Check Student Essentials to make sure you have no other holds preventing enrollment.
- If you do have holds, take action to resolve them immediately in order to avoid pre-enrollment delays.
Instruction Modes
- You will see that the majority of Johnson courses (NBA, NCC, NMI, and MGMT) are currently listed as Planned for In Person.
- Instruction modes will shift throughout the summer as Cornell better understands levels of immunity in our population.
- For now, know that per the message from President Pollack and Provost Kotlikoff on April 2, we plan to teach classes in person, to the extent possible given levels of immunity.
- As instruction mode plans solidify, we will notify you.
Tips for Successful Course Enrollment
-
- Keep in mind that course offerings are subject to change.
- You cannot enroll in courses that conflict with any other courses, regardless of instruction mode. You will receive an error message. No overlaps will be approved.
- You are limited during pre-enrollment to 18 credits. You may petition for up to 22 credits. Petitions will not be processed until early August and courses can then be added during add/drop.
- Plan your semester in advance using the Scheduler Tool in Class Roster.
- You may place courses into your Student Center Shopping Cart before your enrollment appointment begins.
- During your enrollment appointment starting on Thursday, submit your enrollment requests through Student Center. Avoid logging into Student Center from multiple windows, multiple browsers or multiple devices.
- Your enrollment appointment begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Thursday, May 6 and ends at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Friday, May 7. You will have continuous access for the two day period but will not be able to make changes after that until add/drop opens in August.
Important Changes and Reminders
- New Policy on Undergraduate Coursework:
- Due to regulations effective beginning in Summer 2021, students in graduate and professional programs may not use undergraduate level (4999 level and below) courses toward their degree requirements, even with a petition.
- This means that if you plan to enroll in any course that is not at the 5000 level or higher, you will need to make sure you are meeting degree requirements without that course’s credits.
- In addition, because you cannot use undergraduate level courses toward requirements, you will need to be enrolled in at least 12 credits of graduate level coursework to maintain full-time status.
- Summer Internship (or Equivalent) Requirement
- All students in the 2-year MBA (both STEM and non-STEM) are required to complete an internship or equivalent experience in Summer 2021.
- If you do not yet have an internship or experience lined up, please be in touch with your career adviser to ensure you have a plan in place for completing this requirement.
- Students will be enrolled in a 1 credit course in Fall 2021 to reflect on your work experience and complete this requirement. You will be automatically enrolled into this course and do not need to add it during pre-enrollment.
