NEXGENS (National Exchange for the Generational Enterprise Network of Successors) is a first-of-its-kind national student organization connecting the next generation of family business leaders. Inspired by the Family Business Alliance, NEXGENS officially launched in May 2026 at Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business. The organization brings together students from family business backgrounds across the country to build lifelong networks that support continuity, innovation, and legacy in family enterprises.

Cornell University will host the second NEXGENS conference this October on its Ithaca campus. The conference will bring together students from NEXGENS member universities to connect with peers, share experiences, and develop relationships with other emerging family business leaders. Conference attendance is limited to students from official NEXGENS member schools.

NEXGENS membership is free and open to U.S. university students--as well as faculty & staff--who are involved in, planning to return to, or preparing to lead a family business or entrepreneurial family enterprise. Membership is lifelong, including after graduation. Please apply using this link if you are not yet a member and would like to attend the conference.
