Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I've never played Rugby before, can I join?

Yes! Many join us with no prior experience. We will provide coaching at the practice sessions that will see you playing on the pitch in no time.

Rugby is an inclusive sport, and we welcome all graduate Cornell students.

Is Rugby dangerous?

Rugby is a contact sport, and as such carries inherent risks. However good technique and progressive changes in Rugby Union rules have made the sport far safer.

Touch Rugby is also frequently used in practice sessions. It's non-contact, and often very fast paced and a joy to play.

Conditional on sufficient interest, the team may field Mixed Gender Touch Rugby teams in upcoming tournaments.

How often does the Club meet?

Practice sessions are 2hr long, twice a week. Socials are an integral part of Rugby and we meet once a week for a bit of casual shindig.

Networking events with past and present ruggers are a fixture of our community, especially during invitational tournaments.
