ALLY WEEK IS HERE! SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT 
Ally Week is an opportunity for all members of the Johnson community to reflect on how to move from being a bystander (showing up) to becoming an active ally (showing out)There are many ways to do that, but it all starts with listeningCome hear classmates' stories through all of the panels, conversations, and events that will be taking place. CELEBRATE HISPANIC & LATINX HERITAGE MONTH
In the U.S., Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. Cine con Cultura is an on- and off-campus collaboration of cinema and dialogue designed to celebrate Latinx heritage and culture. This year, the festival is virtual; check out the trailers of the featured films through the following link.
 

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF
Zoom fatigue is real. Pause for a quick workout with Cornell's virtual group fitness classes, including free pre-recorded workouts you can access any time. Or take a break to drop in to "Let's Meditate," a free online guided meditation led by a trained facilitator each week Monday to Thursday. Don't forget you can also stop by for a virtual one-on-one confidential talk with a counselor from Cornell Health any weekday. No appointment necessary, no topic off-limits. DO YOUR PART
Cornell is currently monitoring abnormally dry conditions in our region after a prolonged period of lacking rainfall. To raise awareness, the Cornelly University Water Systems has issued a Limited Water Use Advisory to encourage water conservation. Everyone on the Ithaca campus is encouraged to do their part:

  • Report water leakages in University buildings as soon as possible through Cornell's service request system
  • Do not let faucets run unattended
  • Limit your overall use of water to essential needs only

Environmental Finance & Impact Investing (EFII) Fellows Program Information Session
Tuesday, September 29 from 2 to 2:45 p.m. (EST) 
Are you interested in both finance and sustainability? Wondering if you can pursue both? Join this information session for details about the EFII program, the application process, and requirements. Johnson Women in Business Symposium

This year’s Johnson Women in Business Symposium theme is “Doing Business for Good.” We are exploring how we can be change leaders in our organizations. W.E. Cornell: Generating STEM Women Entrepreneurs
Applications due Saturday, October 3
W.E. Cornell is a cohort-based program that empowers women-identified and non-binary STEM students at Cornell to commercialize their innovations and overcome the challenges of leading a technology-based business. Participants will meet experienced mentors and STEM entrepreneurs, build leadership skills, and pitch to investors and community members. Click here to apply. 

International Family Meeting
Sunday, October 4 from 9 to 10 a.m. (EST) 
Come join all your international classmates from the one-year, first-year, and second-year classes for Johnson’s first-ever international family meeting, as we set out to build a cohesive international-only community. The hour-long meeting will feature opportunities to build connection, learn about some international resources and hear from some fantastic panelists about making the most of their time at Johnson. Class of 2021 Mock Interviews 
Monday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 6 
With "campus" interviews just around the corner, the CMC is eager to support your career search success through the Mock Interview Program. CMC Advisors will conduct 1:1 behavioral mock interviews with registered attendees in the class of 2021. (Class of 2022 to come at a later date.) Professional dress is expected and feedback to be provided. Sign up on JTS.

Human Capital Association Symposium Week
Monday, October 5 to Thursday, October 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. (EST) 
HCA's 18th Annual Fall Symposium is right around the corner and we are thrilled to announce our theme for the year: "Beyond Unconscious Bias: HR's Role in Building an Equitable and Inclusive Workplace." The Symposium will kick-off with Tony Byers, former Head of Global Diversity & Inclusion at Starbucks, as our Keynote Speaker on October 5th! We'll be featuring DEI leaders across several Fortune 50 companies, including, Citi, Dell, Deloitte, Ecolab, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, and Prudential. Register on Campus Groups. Switch the Pitch 
Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25
Switch the Pitch partners Johnson MBAs and Cornell undergrads majoring in Computer Science to build a new product over one weekend and pitch it to tech industry leaders. The hook? MBAs pitch the tech. CS students sell the business. Build relationships across disciplines, demonstrate your passion for tech, test new ideas and gain exposure to industry insiders. 2020 Families in Business Conference  
Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30 
The 2020 Families in Business Conference will bring together students, owners from a diverse range of businesses, and the collective wisdom of leading academics and practitioners. Each day will feature a keynote conversation followed by networking, mentoring and peer group discussions. Register on Campus Groups

Emerging Markets Institute Annual Conference & 10th Anniversary
Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7
EMI was born in 2010 in the aftermath of the Global Financial crisis. A decade later, emerging markets are faced with yet another global crisis and this is an opportune moment for the EMI Annual Conference to explore how emerging markets will not just cope with the Covid-19 crisis but also emerge stronger to shape the global future.
