Pressure does amazing things, and how we learn to deal with stress, either performing better or worse through it impacts the success of our communication. For example, did you know that when you experience acute stress, PET and EEG scans have shown that up to 80% of the non-leading (dominant) brain hemisphere stops ‘firing’? Whether it is true or not it is a great metaphor for why many of us feel we can think clearly in one-on-one interactions, but can shut-down when the stakes are higher. The most effective presenters have learned skills to overcome this and have access to their dynamic and diverse non-verbal vocabulary even under pressure. As a participant in this class you will have several chances to practice presenting where Colleen will observe how you cope. You will get personalized coaching and individualized tools that will help you gain command of your presentation skills.
STUDENTS MUST TAKE A MINIMUM OF 2 OF THE 3 WORKSHOPS TO GET CREDIT OF 0.1.
