Our mission is to increase support and awareness of disability and neurodiversity for current and incoming Johnson students.

Membership Benefits
Access Johnson members can participate in events and use our resources in one of three ways:

1) Publicly identifying as an individual with a disability and/or neurodiversity
2) Anonymously by only sharing your disability and/or neurodiversity with board members
3) As an advocate for disability and neurodiversity causes

Access Johnson offers three levels of membership in order to accommodate all students, at whatever their comfort level, to be involved.

Access 1- Publicly identifies as a person with a disability and/or neurodiversity

Access 2- Identifies as a person with a disability and/or neurodiversity only to AJ board member and faculty

Advocate- For those who have family members with disabilities and/or neurodiversities and those who would like to learn more

Johnson students are invited to self-identify as a person with a disability and/or neurodiversity or as an active advocate through their membership selection. This helps Access Johnson and Johnson's Office of Diversity and Inclusion identify and communicate directly with those individuals that publicly identify. Self-identification is optional. For individuals who want to get involved with Access Johnson but would not like to self-identify, we invite you to select the Advocate membership option.

We believe that MBA students and business professionals should acquire more than just expertise in areas such as management, marketing, and quantitative analysis—as important as these skills are. They should also come to understand—and be able to defend—the nature of the economic system that fosters job creation, wealth generation, the alleviation of poverty globally, and scientific innovation.

Events: Smith Soc membership gives you access to attend private and large-scale events, including salon dinners and debates about a range of policy issues, and discussions about the relationship between the economy, government, and society. You will connect with leading experts from across the globe who share an interest in ideas and a passion for the free market.

Annual Case Competitions: Each year, students from top business schools compete against one another to devise a potential business solution to an issue with ethical, political, and philosophical implications.

Destination Treks: Smith Soc Treks immerse our members in destination-based, intellectual retreats that explore critical issues in business, industry, and economy theory and create deeper connections among Smith Soc members from around the world.

The mission of the Arab Business Association is to provide a safe space for Arabic students to come together and build a community to support one another, and also meet other students interested in living and working in the region. ABA also wants to increase awareness around the culture by organizing events and lastly build a network of current students and alums and connect them to each other.

Launched in January 2009, BR Microenterprise (BRM) is the first domestic microfinance and business support organization run by MBA students. We partner with Alternatives Federal Credit Union in Ithaca to provide loans and business coaching to low-income entrepreneurs in Tompkins County. The vision of BRM is to institutionalize a process for our clients to build the business acumen and financial stability necessary to gain access to the traditional banking system.
