Platform Presentations and Q&A Session
Tuesday, October 24, 4-5pm, B09 Sage Hall | Save to Outlook Calendar
Come hear the candidates for Student Council Co-Chair present their platforms and answer questions from the student body. This event will be recorded and emailed to the student body for those who cannot make it.
-
Voting opens at 5pm on Tuesday, October 24 and closes at 5pm on Friday, October 27.
-
We strongly encourage members of the student body to read the platforms and ask the candidates about their ideas. Campaigning through mass communication, social media, and physical collateral (posters, buttons, etc.) is not consistent with Student Council election norms. We also strongly discourage blanket “vote for me” statements and solicitations without substantive conversations about platforms.
Chair Elections:
-
All other Chair platforms and signature sheets are due Sunday, October 29 at 12pm. Platform presentations and Q&A will be Monday, October 30, 4-5:30pm (https://johnson.campusgroups.com/sc/rsvp?id=355228).
-
Submit your platforms and signature sheets to StudentCouncil@johnson.cornell.edu.
-
Sample platforms and the blank signature sheets can be found here: 2018 SC Election Information.
-
All candidates are strongly encouraged to talk with the sitting chair in your position of interest. Email addresses for current and former chairs can be found in the Info Session deck.
-
The current Student Council Chairs will hold office hours in the Dyson Atrium from 9:30am-12pm on Tuesday, October 24 to answer any general election questions or talk specifically about roles.

The GPSA holds regular meetings, where campus-wide issues are discussed and resolutions are passed in your name. Click here for minutes from a recent meeting.
