Hello Johnson Officers –
We are writing to clarify a few items regarding the university’s mandatory requirements for all student organizations, as they apply to Johnson School groups.
If you have any CLUB or CAMPUSGROUPS questions, PLEASE ASK!
REGISTRATION
- All student organizations must register this fall with the university in CORNELL CampusGroups, even if your group has not registered in the past, and even if your group does not receive GPSAFC funding.
- Please review this information on Johnson group registration.
- For most Johnson groups, you will search for your club in CORNELL CampusGroups, and initiate a “Group Re-Registration.”
- If you do not find your group when searching CORNELL CampusGroups, then you will “Register new Graduate/Professional Student Organization.”
- Johnson clubs do not have to have all members actually JOIN in both JOHNSON CampusGroups and CORNELL CampusGroups, with the exception of sports clubs members who are required to join and sign waivers in the Cornell system.
- You will be able to upload members from JOHNSON CampusGroups into CORNELL CampusGroups at some point this semester. We recommend waiting until a few weeks after the 9/7 Virtual Club Fair. This is a straightforward process, and our office can assist with that.
EVENTS
- Johnson clubs do not have to post all events on both the JOHNSON Calendar and the CORNELL Calendar, especially since many of our events are not open outside Johnson.
- If using GPSAFC funds for your event, you are required to post it on the CORNELL Calendar as well as the JOHNSON Calendar.
- If you want to promote an event to the Cornell community, it will make sense to put it on both, but directing people to the event in the JOHNSON Calendar for actual registration.
- Johnson clubs must keep a complete record of actual event attendance in JOHNSON CampusGroups so that our office can pull this information, if required by the university. Please use the check-in feature in CampusGroups, or upload attendance reports from Zoom or other videoconferencing platforms.
- NOTE: to get your event promotions/announcements into the weekly Student Council Newsletter, be sure to submit this survey by 5pm ET each Friday.
