Welcome, Ithaca Commencement Guests!
Family and friends play an important role in the success of our graduates. Thank you for the care and support you've provided to your loved one throughout their Johnson School experience. We hope you enjoy the events and activities we have planned!
Plan Your Weekend
For full information on travel, lodging, parking, accessibility, etc., please visit: Cornell University Commencement Website.
Tickets
Tickets are required from some events, and must be requested by the graduate. See the Student Information Page for more details.
Parking and Road Closures
Review the May Commencement Weekend Parking & Directions information page for details about lot and road closures, plus free park-n-ride bus locations. Use the Cornell Campus Map to find your way on campus. NOTE: all central campus roads are closed to traffic 6:30 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Attire
Throughout the weekend, graduates and guests should dress comfortably (business casual is common). Be prepared for crowds and lots of walking; and for assorted weather (hot, wet, cold, etc.). Bartels Hall is not air conditioned, and there is little shade/coverage in Schoellkopf Stadium.
Explore Ithaca
Looking for something to do between events when your graduate is busy? Find plenty of local activities, events, restaurants, and more at visitithaca.com.
Request Accessible Accommodation
If there are guests in your group with mobility challenges and/or who need other accommodations for parking and seating, we encourage you to review the University's Commencement accessibility planning information, which includes information on mobility-impaired parking permits and other resources. Accessibility plans must be requested by the graduate.
Security
To uphold health and safety protocols, minimize contact and ensure a swifter entry process, carrying a clear bag is strongly encouraged at events this weekend. Note that guests entering large events may pass through metal detectors and may be subject to additional screening.
Severe Weather
In the event of severe weather on Saturday, the university may move to the Severe Weather Plan.
