Each year, MVP brings dozens of corporate leaders and alumni from across the country for a daylong mentoring symposium. These alumni represent a wide range of industries and sectors, giving students an unparalleled opportunity to network and better understand the diversity of corporate careers. MVP participants have multiple opportunities to connect, whether in one-on-one mentoring sessions, group panel discussions or informational sessions. The goal of MVP is to provide CSMC students with new industry connections and potential lifelong mentors.
Cornell Johnson offers a number of immersions that provide intense, hands-on learning through a semester-long integrated course. CSMC members typically take advantage of one of the following options:
Strategic Product and Marketing Immersion (SPMI)
SPMI is designed to give every Johnson marketer and product manager the opportunity for hands-on training prior to their summer internship, thereby providing a significant competitive advantage. In this semester-long course in the latter half of the first year, student teams identify and solve marketing problems through guidance by professors and industry experts. By conducting marketing research, analyzing data, and generating consumer insights, students have the opportunity to make and defend recommendations. The SPMI curriculum also includes weekly lectures on marketing strategies and tactics, guest lectures from renowned practitioners.
Corporate Finance Immersion (CFI)
CFI provides comprehensive understanding of core and current issues that CFOs encounter, as well as creative and sophisticated approaches for managing and problem solving. CFI students forge careers in corporate finance, leadership and rotational programs. In addition to working in group projects, students have the opportunity to hear from and interact with Cornell alumni in C-suite of Fortune 500 companies. Some of the companies that hired CFI students are Amazon, Deloitte, Disney, GE, Johnson & Johnson and Nike.
Digital Technolgoy Immersion (DTI)
DTI helps students develop firsthand experience and technical knowledge critical for success in high tech. In this cross-disciplinary immersion, students learn to leverage the power of analytics to solve business problems. DTI students pursue careers in product management, analytics and data science. Companies that hired DTI students include Google, Amazon, McKinsey, KPMG, P&G, IBM and Salesforce.
