CLUB CORPORATE OUTREACH
A brand image and reputation are the sum of all impressions and interactions for those who experience it. Every aspect of our interaction with industry influences how Johnson is perceived and how we are remembered. All requests for funding, sponsorship, or engagement with our corporate partners have direct or indirect impact on multiple departments within Johnson. To help you facilitate a coordinated and effective approach to corporate outreach, we ask that you follow the process below.

To help you facilitate a coordinated and effective approach to corporate outreach, we ask that you follow the process below.
- JOHNSON APPROVAL - ALLOW TEN BUSINESS DAYS Before reaching out to companies to solicit corporate sponsorship for club events or initatives, submit the following to StudentActivities@johnson.cornell.edu:
>> A SPREADSHEET WITH a) Company Name, b) Company Address, c) Company Contact Name, d) Company Contact Email, e) Company Contact Phone Number, f) Sponsorship Amount Requesting, g) Club Event/Initiative, h) Club Contact Name, i) Club Contact Email.
>> A COMPANY SOLICITATION DOCUMENT that describes sponsorship levels, and benefits to companies at each level. Download SAMPLE.
The Johnson School Student Activities, and the SC Johnson College of Business External Relations offices will review the list, and notify the club contact of approval or reason for not approving each company ask.
- CLUB ASK TO COMPANY - If approved, clubs then approach company contacts to share information about their event or initiative, and to request support.
- COMPANY COMMITMENT - The original spreadsheet should be updated to indicate actual commitments, verbal or written, and sent to StudentActivities@johnson.cornell.edu Johnson School Student Activities will prepare an invoice and send it to the company contact, copying the club contact.
- Are tax-deductible gifts to the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University (NOT to any individual club);
- Are deposited into specific Cornell University accounts for each club which are managed by the Student Activities & Special Events Office, and clubs work with this office for access to funds;
- CANNOT be redirected to club external checking accounts, and must remain in the Cornell account;
- Are treated as a gift to Cornell/Johnson School (gifts receive official acknowledgement, count toward company totals for corporate partnership levels, etc.).
